Dijon-Agave Salad Dressing

Upon looking for a salad dressing at Kroger and Wal-mart, I found that I could not find one without SUGAR or High Fructose Corn Syrup!!!  I took it upon myself to create my own and it turned out really good. Enjoy!!

Dijon Agave Salad Dressing

1/2 cup of dijon mustard (any brand is fine)

2 tablespoons of  agave nectar (can be found at any grocery store)

1 table spoon of soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

1/2 teaspoon of any herb blend

Combine ingredients in bowl and wisk together. Drizzle on salad and toss or use for marinate. Double the recipe if cooking for more than 1 person.

New Recipe, Pina Colada Ice Cream--Vegan Style

Pina Colada Ice Cream

2 bananas, peeled and ripened
1 can of coconut milk any brand
1/2 can of pineapple chunks
Cherries (Optional)

Blend first three ingredients in a blender for 3 minutes.

Taste, if it is not sweet enough, add remainder of pineapple.

Add cherries to garnish.

Pour mixture into a freezer safe container and freeze overnight.

Enjoy!!!

(You may also drink mixture unfrozen, tastes good that way too!)

The Beginning

I began this blog as part of my journey towards health. Although I love animals, and have one  myself, this blog isn't to sway people from eating meat.  It is my journey through health...to find options in eating. A recent report (although statistics are soooo biased) says that a majority of black women are overweight. Factors such as economics and adaptation can be reasons for this. After all, many of us were raised on cheap and easy foods like fried chicken, pork and anything else that is readily available in our communities.  I am aiming to become a lifetime vegan because I feel better, I look better (20 lbs down) and it is a personal choice. Will I fail or falter? Who knows....but I will damn sure try. :)
